Export and Logistics Customer Service Rep

Job Summary:

Under direction of the Logistics manager this individual will perform various functions in the Logistics Department. The Logistics CSR will be support and the communication channel for our operations, customers & carrier partners. The effective daily management of customer service, order tracking, paperwork and carrier dispatch are their primary focus.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Two (2) years of experience in Logistics and Export; specifically, in customer service (ocean, air and rail transportation and/or freight forwarding).

  • Strong mathematical abilities in order to determine rates to be applied.

  • Assists and acts as back-up for divisions in the areas of Export Traffic, NVOCC Traffic, Import CHB, Logistics, Transportation, data entry, customer service, etc.

  • Attends high volume of incoming telephone calls for the department manager and directs/delivers them as necessary.

  • Ability to think logically and follow procedures and instructions.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and fellow employees.

  • Ability to work extended hours, holidays and/or weekends, as needed.

  • Create and distribute reports to each department

  • Make Customer follow-up calls

  • Ensure all carrier set up Packets are complete

  • Coordinate appointment needs (e.g. pick-up, deliveries, detention, etc.) with Carrier.

  • Coordinate with the Logistics Manager to ensure high levels of customer service are met.

Required Experience:

  • At Least 2 years of Export/Logistics experience

  • Intermediate PC skills in programs such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Bachelors Degree or higher preferred
