Position Description


Position Summary:

Responsible for the Marketing, Sales, and Client Services functions of Medical Interactive Community. Directs and supervises staff to develop and implement marketing strategies and programs and achieve new business and retention goals. Works with Vice-President of Operations to develop business, marketing and communication plans.


The pay will be 80k - 90k.


Reporting Relationship:

Reports directly to VP of Operations


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Works in a cooperative manner with management, coworkers, customers, and vendors; seeks to support the companies vision mission and vision in daily operations

  • Defines and communicates performance expectations and measures, evaluates results, conducts performance reviews, and administers appropriate coaching, counseling, recognition, rewards, and disciplinary actions; responsible for directing and motivating department staff

  • Works with Vice-President of Operations to develop business, marketing, and communication plans and operating budget; oversees same to ensure compliance and achievement of goals.

  • Ensures effective and desired marketing and sales results, and takes corrective action as necessary.

  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing actual and potential sales, and areas of potential client base expansion.

  • Plans and oversees advertising and promotional activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.

  • Recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.

  • Collaborates with external marketing/communication firm and Communication Department to develop collateral material for campaigns to generate leads and increase sales.

  • Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.

  • Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.

  • Ensures maintenance of a consistent corporate brand and image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.

  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote products.

  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales staff with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.

  • Serves as liaison between Risk Management, Communication and IT.


Secondary Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with department staff and management

  • Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned


Management Scope

  • Responsible for direct supervision of exempt level personnel, approximately 3 employees


Education, Experience and Skills


  • Master's in Public Health, Marketing, Finance, or Economics.

  • 3-5 years supervisory experience

  • 5-8 years experience in sales/marketing of healthcare or insurance products

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic marketing plan

  • Ability to effectively present ideas and offer innovative solutions

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Hubspot and analytics reporting tools such as Google Analytics

  • Strong teamwork, customer service, and communications skills with the ability to interact with other departments, personnel, and clients at all levels both within and outside the company

  • Ability to manage time, set priorities, and work independently; ability to organize, analyze, and interpret information

  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential or sensitive company information

  • Commitment to continuing industry and individual functional education

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
